Meet 23-yr-old Selemon Susan who makes 'magic' with newspapers (photos)

23-years-old Selemon Susan Funke, has just warmed her way into the heart of fashion lovers with the designs from her newspaper inspired fashion styles.

Funke studied Educational management from the University of Ibadan and began her fashion brand, showcasing unique styles.

She claimed that she began to learn how to sew at the age of seven from her mother who learnt from her own mother.

"From the early age of seven, I wanted to be more creative than my mum and she really encouraged me, supported my dream and kept pushing me hard to be a better me. She has always been my number one mentor and role model."She disclosed in an interview.

She posted ten styles she made from newspapers on social media and themed it ‘My 2017 Newspaper Series Collection’

In her post on Instagram, she disclosed that the inspiration to come up with these designs came from her staring at the dress she made in 2016 for the Nigeria's next top designer event where she emerged as top 7 from the 21 finalist.

THE NEWSPAPER SERIES by SUSAN ROSEMON

The inspiration for this collection came from God. It all started last month with me staring at a newspaper dress i made last year for the Nigeria's Next Top Designer 2016 where i emerged Top 7 from 21 finalist. Immediately i got inspired to create a newspaper collection for 2017.

Then after the collection was made i started thinking of a venue for the photoshoot, again God inspired me to redesign my office into a newspaper studio. And finally God blessed me with a great team of creative like minds to help make this collection a success @badejo_kholade my very own personal PR @pellzphotography the creative photographer @lucia_oyedele the beautiful model @tifes_signature the amazing make up artist @ajibadediana1 my lovely personal assistant @selemon_d @anne_apex @dalglishofbrg @omowummy57 @selemon_a

All these gifts i have, its all God's grace. I look at myself, the numerous things i can do with my hands and i am amazed even at myself. Designing and creating dresses, costumes, bags, shoes, lots of accessories, teaching, writing. One thing is for sure, all these numerous gifts God has blessed me with, will be used to the fullest. To whom much is given much is equally expected. So i won't stop working hard until I have fulfilled God's ultimate plan.
